There are certain things that I strongly assosciate with Christmas and I wouldn’t eat nor bake at any other time of the year.
When the nights drop cold and we get closer to Christmas I seem to bake more than any other time of the year, so I thought I would share what I have made/baked over the past week to get into the festive spirit.
This isn’t strictly Christmassy but to add a little Winter feel I did add cinnamon.
Warm banana bread slices with a cup of tea whilst watching a Christmas film is right up my street. I used the BBCgoodfood recipe but I tend to make it in a shallow, square cake tin rather than a loaf tin so it is easier to create slices.
Next – What is Christmas without cookies?
I think making cookies would be the perfect activity for Christmas Eve and saving a couple for Santa. These cookies were white chocolate and raspberry. I did cheat slightly by using Asda’s Cookie Dough.
Building a gingerbread house is something we do each year, whilst some very successful people may make their own gingerbread…mine comes in a box. It still counts, right?
So that is this years gingerbread house, kindly decorated for me by my Mum.
Again…not strictly any baking skills were needed and not entirely Christmassy but you could put a little Santa hat on him
As you can see most of my baking is very simple and foolproof but the smell of homebaked goodies is too good at this time of year.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post, if you did please remember to like and subscribe. Merry Christmas x
